Van der Garde in second in Monaco

Giedo van der Garde continued his strong start of the season in Thursday's free practice session in Monaco. Through the streets of Monaco the Dutchman was clearly one of the fastest drivers on track. He had to settle with a second fastest time though, for now.

Van der Garde: "This was a pertty good start of the weekend. The car feels good and we had no problems. It's just unfortunate that I didn't complete a single flying lap without any traffic. Each time I was doing a flying lap there was someone I had to overtake. But that's all part of such a unique track as Monaco. We know we can be much faster than my fastest lap today but we just need to find the right timing now.

"I expect the track to be pretty different on Saturday as there should be a lot more rubber there so more grip. So far so good, I hope to be able to complete a flying lap without any traffic on Saturday for a good qualifying result."
